With a single tap on the prominent red SOS button located at the top of the screen, the user can trigger an emergency alert within seconds. To avoid false alarms, a quick confirmation prompt allows the alert to be canceled if activated accidentally. If not canceled, the app immediately enables the senior to record a short 15-second audio or video message, allowing them to clearly explain the situation in their own voice or through visuals. At the same time, the app automatically shares the senior’s live Google location with their pre-selected family members or caregivers, known as “Kins,” giving them precise, real-time information to respond quickly and effectively. To ensure reliability even in critical moments, the SOS Alert includes a smart repeat mechanism—if the alert is not acknowledged, it is automatically re-sent at regular intervals until someone responds. This layered approach ensures that no distress signal goes unseen or ignored. By combining one-tap activation, real-time location sharing, personal audio/video context, and persistent alerts, SOS Alert provides seniors with confidence and independence, while giving families the assurance that help can be reached instantly when it truly matters.
